Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Decatur ILLINOIS -62526
Shift: 2nd Shift - 11 am to 8 pm ( Monday to Friday )
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and experiments following established protocols.
- Prepare samples for analysis, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of experimental data and laboratory procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and FDA regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members on research projects, providing insights based on experimental findings.
- Assist in the development of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data entry and management.
- Stay updated on advancements in microbiology, histology, and veterinary terminology relevant to the field.
Experience
- Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within a clinical or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with scientific research methodologies and laboratory procedures.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations governing laboratory practices.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is highly desirable.
- Understanding of microbiology principles and techniques is a plus.
- Background in histology or veterinary terminology will be considered an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
