BUILT ENVIRONMENT ENERGY CONTRACTOR
Division: Built Environment Team
Job Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation: Project-based pay, designed to allow proficient contractors to earn an equivalent of $150-$175 per hour.
Location: US Remote
Job Summary
As an Energy Consultant, you will provide expert guidance and support for built environment sustainability projects, focusing on certification support for LEED BD C and ID C projects on a global scale. You will review project documentation, ensure compliance with certification standards, provide feedback to project teams, and ensure the quality of the certification process. This role requires a strong understanding of building and site drawings, energy modeling, the LEED rating system, and strong written communication skills.
Ideal Skillset
The ideal contractor will have 7 – 10 years of experience in pursuing LEED certification, a strong technical background, and excellent communication skills. You should be detail-oriented, responsive, and dedicated to sustainability in buildings. Flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
Requirements
Currently hold or are pursuing professional credentials such as RA, AIA, PE, EIT, BEMP, CEM, or CEA.

Requirements
- BA/BSc in sustainability, engineering, or related science, with a well-rounded understanding of the construction industry.
- 7-10 years of directly related work experience in LEED or other built environment certifications.
- Proficiency in building energy models for energy analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand building and site drawings.
- Possess, or be in the process of obtaining within six months, a LEED AP with specialty credential.
- Responsive and dedicated to meeting client and project expectations.
- Review and assess project documentation related to LEED BD C and ID C rating systems, ensuring compliance with LEED and related standards.
- Analyze documentation and evidence for intent and context, providing quality written feedback that adheres to technical writing guidelines.
- Provide subject matter expertise on topics related to built environment sustainability.
- Provide quality reviews, and clearly written technical guidance related to certification documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- The ability to work as a contractor on a flexible schedule
