The Keene Public Library is seeking a library professional to join their team as a full-time Librarian II- Youth and Community Services . The Keene Public Library is a cherished community resource for the City and one of New Hampshire’s foremost public libraries. The Library has an active and supportive Board of Trustees and community, as well as dedicated staff and volunteers, who all contribute to a stimulating and positive work environment.
Position Summary
The Librarian II provides program and library services to visitors of all ages and provides administrative support to the Head of Youth and Community Services. Specific responsibilities include :
- Scheduling Youth, Teen, and Makerspace service desks.
- Ordering and organizing youth materials.
- Supervising volunteers, library pages, interns, and program leaders in the Youth, Teen, and Makerspace sections.
- Assisting in identifying, applying for, implementing, and reporting for grants.
- Planning and implementing programs, events, and community outreach for all ages, both onsite and offsite.
- Ordering and maintaining youth materials in all formats.
- Providing training in the use of the library, library catalog, reference materials, online resources, computers, AV equipment, and Makerspace equipment.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and supervision skills and will be passionate about the work they do and the community they work in.
