The Product Design Engineer is a vital member of our team, responsible for delivering innovative and effective product design solutions. This role involves providing technical, aesthetic, and performance requirements for a variety of projects, working closely with the CEO and product development team to ensure outstanding results.
We are a product design, strategy, and development firm serving the medical device, renewable energy, and consumer goods industries. Our expertise includes consulting services, product development, manufacturing, and sales of products such as the BiliDX point of care bilirubinometer and Stone Cold Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Design and Engineering: Concept generation, hand sketching, specification development, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, design control, supplier resourcing, testing, and evaluation of prototypes and finished products
- Project Support: Presentation material editing, printed material creation, editing and categorization, project organization support, and material management
- Leading the Technical Engineering Effort: Conducting engineering reviews, managing resources, budget planning, and contributing to knowledge growth and process improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering field, specifically in Product Design
- 3-8 years of experience in a design engineering role, with lead engineer experience
- Experience working with offshore suppliers, mechanical conceptualization, analysis, and visualization skills, and SolidWorks CAD proficiency
- Ability to perform stress/strain analysis and tolerance analysis, experience with industrial and user interaction designers, and experience leading a project team
