Summary:
Perform mechanical design duties for projects. Will assist team of CADD operators in executing assigned as-built projects involving the development and/or update of as-built drawings based on documentation provided by client to accurately reflect project scope. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must work well in a Team environment.
Essential functions:
- Maintain the integrity of 3S Engineering & Design HSE policies.
- Follow drafting standards.
- Will prepare assigned projects for CADD operators ( i.e. get relevant files, get as-built information, add comments as needed, prepare Bluebeam sessions, etc.) & will assist with any questions that may arise
- Ensure that all as-built drawings updated by CADD operators, accurately reflect final as-built conditions
- Be able to understand how to utilize shapefile information/gps data, as-built redlines, mechanical BOM’s, Weld X-ray map, Bore Survey information, in order to update alignment drawings per client’s standards.
- Be able to create and/or update as-built alignment drawings based on survey data & other available documents when necessary.
- Is familiar with 3S QA/QC process in order to perform reviews of drawings produced by CADD Operators & ensure compliance with 3S & Client Standards.
- Able to handle multiple projects at once
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment, with other Client Contractors, and Client GIS team to gather necessary data and clarify project requirements.
- Provide junior level employees guidance and training to improve their professional and personal development.
- Has good management skills and able to begin estimating time for design tasks.
- Maintain a daily timesheet.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience.
- Knowledge of Civil 3D, AutoCAD and general drafting.
- A minimum of 6-8 years design experience in the Petrochem Industry. Upstream experience required. Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME B31 AND API STANDARDS.
- General knowledge of Google Earth is a plus.
- General Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
