Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a variety of functions that strengthen the department’s execution of its human capital work and supports the company’s culture. This position has a strong emphasis on talent acquisition support.

Pay is commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform employment related background, MVR, PSP checks, and other verifications, and report results to applicable staff.
  • Responsible for the company’s approved driver process, ensuring all applicable employees are properly designated as approved drivers and tracked in the HCM and other software systems.
  • Responsible for the company’s MVR monitoring software system and processes.
  • Collaborate with head of human resources and hiring managers as needed to create and execute recruiting plans.
  • Conduct job analyses to establish job descriptions and maintain company library of job descriptions.
  • Responsible for all recruitment job postings on job boards, professional sites, social media, etc.
  • Conduct a variety of pre-hire and post-offer activities to ensure successful candidate experiences.
  • Manage external relationships with recruiters, trade schools, community colleges, universities, and others.
  • Assist in managing university campus recruiting events to source talent.
  • Effectively use a variety of sourcing tools and methods to build active and passive applicant pools.
  • Perform candidate interviews as requested.
  • Implement and administer the applicant tracking system and be its subject matter expert.
  • Assist with developing and implementing training and onboarding programs.
  • Perform Texas Attorney General new hire reporting and employment verifications.
  • Perform hiring support and onboarding functions for new job start-ups, and trains/coach site staff to perform these functions effectively.
  • Assist with benefit reconciliations.
  • Assist with the company’s visa hiring programs.
  • Responsible for the company’s leave programs to ensure compliance.
  • Cross-train to be back-up subject matter expert for PTO processes, benefits administration, new hire processes, employee change processes, and more as assigned.
  • Lead high-touch onboardings for remotely hired staff.
  • Respond to state unemployment claims to protect company interests.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the organization’s processes, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Comply with all Company policies, rules, guidelines and behavior expectations.
  • Responsible as the subject matter expert for the online employee self-service portal.
  • Partner with the head of human resources and others to execute initiatives and projects as assigned.
  • Conduct all work to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Company.

Education and Professional Licensing or Certifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other degree combined with three years of related Human Resources experience in multiple human resources disciplines.
  • Preferred: Professional human resources certification through SHRM of HRCI

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Three years of experience in recruiting/talent acquisition with demonstrated experience in full cycle recruiting.
  • Able to travel as needed.
  • Exceptional interviewing skills.
  • Exceptional candidate relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional writing and grammar skills.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills.
  • Strong experience utilizing HCM software, ATS, Job Boards, Social Media, and various other systems that provide for more effective and efficient work.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws.
  • High technical aptitude and advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional analytical skills as applies to metrics and reporting.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong adherence to meeting deadlines.
