The Bigfoot Hoops Internship is an 8-month (January - August) paid position based out of our office in Plano, TX. Interns will work under the guidance of Bigfoot Directors & Leadership to plan and implement events and tournaments on a weekly basis. This annual program has been the kickstart to many careers across not only grassroots sports, but also collegiate and professional organizations.
The goal of our Sales & Event Operations position is to provide a fully immersive experience in all aspects of sports business and create a path towards a successful career in the industry. Top performing associates have gone on to full-time positions within the sports industry with many staying on in full-time positions with both Bigfoot Hoops & other brands/departments within 3STEP Sports.
Duties Include:
- Responsible for communicating with all major customers and selling events/tournament slots to customers and teams
- Working directly with Bigfoot's leadership team on market strategy including, but not limited to: setting season schedules, projecting facility needs, and implementing new market strategies
- Scheduling events within region and in some instances multiple events in a given week
- Assist with NCAA Compliance for recruiting events
- Registering and collecting payments from our vast customer base on a weekly basis
- Assisting with venue/facility setup and breakdown - acting as a Site Director at tournaments throughout our season
- Drive revenue growth through building/maintaining strong customer relationship
- Open to Travel across the US to large events
- Responsible for ensuring correct equipment and supplies are packed and get to each of our facilities up and down
- Maintain systems to inventory and organize equipment
- Help to improve part-time event staff list.
- Assisting with venue/facility setup and breakdown each week
- Acting as on-site lead at Bigfoot events and tournaments
Desired Characteristics:
- Major in Sport Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Aspirations to be a leader in sports industry
- Desire and ability to work in an extremely demanding, fast-paced environment
- Interest in event operations or sales
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent verbal communications skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work extended hours & Weekends
- Willing to travel frequently to various locations
- Prior event management or sales experience is a plus
