The Park Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment for park visitors. This position follows a 4-day-on, 4-day-off rotating schedule, ensuring continuous upkeep of park facilities, assisting guests, and enforcing park rules. The role requires a proactive, customer-service-oriented individual who enjoys working outdoors and performing light maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work a 4-day-on, 4-day-off schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Greet and assist park visitors, provide directions, and answer questions about park rules and amenities.
- Maintain park cleanliness by emptying trash cans, picking up litter, and cleaning restrooms, picnic areas, and shelters.
- Perform light landscaping duties, such as mowing grass, trimming bushes, watering plants, and raking leaves.
- Inspect and maintain park facilities, including playgrounds, trails, benches, and pavilions, reporting any damages or safety hazards.
- Enforce park rules and regulations to ensure visitor safety and park conservation.
- Assist with special events, activities, and recreational programs as needed.
- Respond to minor first aid situations and report emergencies to appropriate authorities.
- Operate small maintenance equipment and tools, such as leaf blowers, pressure washers, and mowers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service, maintenance, or outdoor work is a plus.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping, facility maintenance, or janitorial duties is an advantage.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
