SUMMARY
The Reliability and Utilities Technician plays a key role in supporting utility reliability programs, executing predictive maintenance tasks, and providing precision maintenance expertise. Additionally, they assist with ongoing reliability engineering efforts, including studies, improvement projects, and database management, while also offering feedback for continuous reliability improvement.
Maintains ISO / EFfCI requirements and certifications.

¨ Maintain Equipment Asset Health Database:
a. Compile and issue exception reports as needed.
b. Work closely with the Reliability Engineering team to ensure accurate data collection and analysis for reliability improvement initiatives.
c. Assist in developing reliability-centered maintenance strategies based on equipment criticality and failure modes.
d. Assist in database management to improve equipment library and reliability data tracking.
¨ Utilities Management:
a. Manage the Utility Reliability Program's daily tasks, focusing on maintaining critical utility assets.
b. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities on utility systems.
c. Coordinate with third-party contractors during utility maintenance activities to ensure compliance with reliability standards.
d. Provide feedback to the Reliability Department based on daily round sheets and equipment familiarity, contributing to ongoing reliability improvement efforts.
¨ Predictive Maintenance:
a. Execute vibration routes based on asset criticality, analyzing vibration data to detect early signs of equipment degradation.
b. Perform infrared routes inspections on MCCs to identify potential electrical issues and prevent unplanned downtime.
c. Conduct ultrasonic surveys to identify and mitigate compressed air or steam leaks, optimizing energy efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.
¨ Precision Maintenance Expertise:
a. Develop expertise in precision maintenance techniques such as laser alignment, belt tensioning, and pump maintenance.
b. Provide training and guidance to maintenance technicians on precision maintenance best practices.
¨ Reliability Engineering Support:
a. Assist reliability engineers in conducting reliability studies, including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and reliability modeling.
b. Participate in the development of reliability improvement projects and initiatives, contributing practical insights based on field experience.
c. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement reliability engineering principles and drive continuous improvement efforts.
¨ Adhere to all 3V Sigma USA Inc. Safety and Environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures including wearing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
¨ Follow all Reliability and Maintenance work process guidelines, policies, and procedures as well as provide feedback on gaps in processes
¨ Available to work rotating shifts and weekends
¨ Maintain housekeeping per QA internal audits
¨ Maintains ISO / EFfCI requirements and certifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
¨ Degree in Engineering or 5 years precision maintenance experience.
¨ Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and methodologies.
¨ Experience in maintenance, condition monitoring, or reliability-focused roles preferred.
¨ Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret technical data.
¨ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
¨ Proficiency in database management and reporting tools.
¨ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
¨ Strong oral and written English language skills are required.
¨ The ability to read, analyze, and interpret instruction manuals or assembly requirements.
¨ Must demonstrate strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and an ability to partner with internal departments to ensure continuous production and service standards that maximize quality, reliability, efficiency and minimize costs.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
¨ High level of Math skills is required.
¨ Must be proficient in both metric/English conversions and arithmetic calculations.
¨ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference.
¨ Must be able to calculate/convert various electrical, pressure, temperature, volume and distance properties

¨ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
¨ The ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
¨ Preferred: Level I Certification in Vibration, Infrared, or Airborne Ultrasound or other reliability certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
¨ Must be able to routinely ascend and descend up to four flights of stairs in production areas.
¨ Frequent standing, reaching, bending, stretching, and walking may be required.
¨ Must constantly remain mentally alert.
¨ Must be able to wear respirator as needed.
¨ Must have (or be corrected to) 20/20 visual acuity. Must have good color perception.
¨ Occasional lifting up to 55 pounds is required.
¨ Must be able to understand and respond to instructions and alarms in the plant.
¨ Must be able to manage multiple priorities and normal levels of job stress.
¨ Must be available for irregular shift hours and frequent call-ins or callbacks.
¨ Occasionally work from a ladder or man-lift at heights up to 60 feet
