Safety Associate
The Safety Associate works as a partner with all facets of 3Z Brands operations to analyze the manufacturing process to proactively eliminate potential hazards. The Safety Associate will assist employees in identifying and correcting hazards, establishing best safe practices, and training/ coaching employees. This individual will be responsible for the daily safety and environmental requirements associated with production teams and will have the support of all 3Z Brands Team leaders.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for EHS Compliance at site
· Assist in coordination, planning and facilitation of safety training
· Conduct weekly safety briefings
· Weekly coaching on Lockout/Tagout and procedural audits for ops teams
· Collaborate with managers/employees on EHS issues
· Recognize safety hazards or unsafe work practices and develop Corrective Action Plans
· Assist site management as needed with various EHS and production related projects
· Routinely inspect/observe plant equipment and activities for safe processes
· Prepare and submit all required reports
· Ensure facility compliance with EH&S regulations
· Halt any unsafe action or work
· Ensure all inspections and meetings are completed each month
· Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed
Requirements
· Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a must.
· High school degree required; Associates Degree preferred
· 4 years; Experience with Safety Programs and Compliance
· Verbal, written communications and presentations skills
· Maintain safety records and prepare monthly safety reports
· Prepare for and interact with plan employees in relation to Worker's Compensation
matters
· Interact with insurance carriers, third party administrators and physicians in relation to
Workman's compensation and Health and Welfare Program
· Computer skills
· Detail-oriented
Physical Environment
This role requires standing for extended periods of time and an ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level. The need to lift over 65lbs may arise from time to time – should this be the case; employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely lift. The employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body – bending, crouching, climbing - using steps and ladders, pushing pulling, stooping, and reaching.
