4.0 School Services is seeking an energetic, highly motivated team member for the position of Dispatcher in the Metro area.
4.0 Metro is an independent contractor providing Type III student transportation services throughout Minnesota.
The successful candidate will oversee 30-35 drivers/paras and be responsible for the day to day operations of a school van company to ensure the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school as well as extra-curricular activities. The in office hours for the position are 12:00pm-6:00pm Monday- Friday. The successful candidate will work on a team with at least one other Route Manager, reporting directly to the Transportation Director.
The Afternoon Dispatcher will:
- Be a point of contact with the school administration
- Maintain driver files throughout the year as well as new hire paperwork
- Train new drivers
- Track maintenance and mileage of all vehicles
- Monitor radios during route time and schedule drivers
- Track payroll & billing
- Drive a bus or van route if a substitute is needed
- Assist with other administrative tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Management Experience
- Supervisor Experience
- Transportation industry experience
- Proficient in google applications (ie Google Sheets, Google Docs etc)
The successful candidate will:
- Pass a DOT physical exam.
- Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Pass a background check
- Obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements free of air-brake restriction
