Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to animal welfare and provide high-quality medical care to a variety of animals. This role involves diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper care practices. The Veterinarian will work closely with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any issues.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as needed.
- Perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and other necessary operations.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with staff and clients.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients, documenting treatments and progress.
- Provide guidance on animal husbandry, pet care, and nutrition to pet owners.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during examinations and treatments.
- Collaborate with a team of veterinary professionals to ensure high standards of care.
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Skills
- Proficient in veterinary terminology and animal anatomy knowledge.
- Experience with equine care is a plus but not required.
- Strong skills in animal handling, including dog handling techniques.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques for surgical procedures.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills for educating clients on pet care practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address medical issues effectively.
