Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facility and puppy dorms. This position is also responsible for providing quality care for the dogs and puppies housed at The Ability Center, and to ensure the puppies are kept in a clean and healthy living environment. Another big purpose of the job is to make sure the mom dogs and puppies are healthy through their full stay at TAC. The expectation is to have the puppies in a healthy environment. The puppy stage of life is a very crucial part to their development. We strive to raise these puppies in the best way possible to pave the way for their bright future as service dogs in training. This is a very important role to provide a good space for the puppies to grow, and to keep track of their development.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Taking the puppies outside to play and potty in their designated area.
- Cleaning and disinfecting each puppy dorm, as well as the outside play areas.
- Getting weights and health checks for the puppies and mom dogs.
- Reporting any medical concerns to the shift manager.
- Maintaining clean rooms throughout the day.
- Making sure the puppies and mom dogs have clean food and water.

Nice to Have

Education and Experience
Must Have
- Possession of a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain insurance at standard rates.
- Completion of high school or equivalent (GED).
Nice to Have
- At least one year related experience required.
Physical Ability/Work Environment
- Capable of safely lifting objects weighing up to 45 pounds and safely handling, holding, and restraining active dogs weighing up to 110 pounds.
- Employees are encouraged to seek assistance when lifting dogs or objects exceeding 45 pounds in weight.
- Ability to maintain extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and/or stooping on hard surfaces while on one's feet.
- Work outdoors and indoors in many weather conditions

4pm-12pm
