Position OverviewThe Lead Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions and innovation. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders—this role will focus on data analysis, dashboard development, and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data visualization, statistical analysis, and data engineering, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Experience in financial systems and Agile/SCRUM environments is a plus.
Essential Functions
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of data-driven financial business applications for the entertainment industry.
- Drive complex data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives using Tableau, SQL, Python, and cloud-based technologies.
- Design and implement dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations in Tableau to provide meaningful business insights.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data flows, business applications, and reporting needs.
- Follow best practices in data modeling, data engineering, and AI/ML-driven analytics to optimize data utilization.
- Conduct research and proof of concept (POC) initiatives to evaluate new BI tools and data technologies.
- Lead data governance, data validation, and quality assurance efforts to ensure accurate and reliable analytics.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts and developers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and innovation.
- Present complex data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, effectively communicating findings and recommendations.
- Partner with engineering teams to streamline data pipelines, ETL processes, and event-driven data streaming architectures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 7 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and data visualization.
- Expertise in SQL, Tableau, Python, and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Apache Spark, etc.).
- Experience with ETL, data warehousing, and designing analytical reports using relational and non-relational databases.
- Strong background in event-driven and streaming data solutions to enhance business performance.
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize data workflows and reporting systems.
- Proven track record in mentoring teams, improving data processes, and driving BI strategy.
- Experience in AI/ML integration for predictive analytics and embedded solutions is a plus.
- Financial systems experience (e.g., payroll, residuals, production accounting) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Special Work Conditions
- Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.
