Program Details
This is a three-month internship that will take place during the months of May, June, and July, with flexible hours. As a hybrid internship, interns will be expected to work both in-office and remotely, which includes attending occasional office sessions and in-person meetings, site visits, and events.
Interns will participate in multiple public relations activities with a focus on gaining experience, developing skills, and producing items that can be incorporated into a portfolio for future use. Additionally, interns will have access to special and exclusive opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Compile research that can be utilized for a strategy, campaign, event, or other uses.
- Write press releases, media alerts, articles, newsletters, biographies, and other types of written content.
- Participate in the development and execution of strategies
- Participate in media pitching and tracking the media relations process
- Create and compile press materials
- Create and organize media lists
- Participate in outreach to key people, businesses, and organizations
- Participate in reporting
Qualifications
- College junior or senior currently in a public relations, mass communications, marketing, advertising, journalism, or business administration program.
- Ability to write in AP Style
