Job Summary:
As an Accountant here, you will play an important role in managing the company's financial operations. Your responsibilities will include maintaining financial records, accounts payable and receivable, processing transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, among other things. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a critical eye towards improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and reports.
- Provide daily and weekly reports to company leadership regarding financial positions and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and track expenses to ensure budget compliance.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including preparation of tax filings.
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes and systems.
- Handle payroll processing and related financial reporting as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar financial role.
- Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Proficient in Google Suite products.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax filings is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in the construction or service industry is a bonus.
