The Position:
FanDuel Sports Network is seeking a Director, Network and Cloud Infrastructure to join the Engineering Team. Reporting to the VP, Engineering this position will our organization's network and cloud strategy, design, implementation, maintenance, and operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, technical expertise, and strategic vision to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our network infrastructure.
This is position is hybrid in Southport, CT.
The Game Plan:
(What you will do)
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive network infrastructure strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Network Design and Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures to meet current and future business needs.
- Infrastructure Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize network performance, capacity, and efficiency through monitoring, analysis, and implementation of best practices.
- AWS Administration and Cloud Strategy: Oversee the administration of AWS infrastructure, including resource provisioning, cost management, and security. Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud strategy, integrating cloud solutions with on-premise systems.
- Security Management: Implement and enforce robust network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate, select, and procure network hardware, software, and services.
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the network infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and optimal resource allocation.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure network infrastructure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, as well as mitigation of security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Incident Response: Lead and or participate in incident response team(s) during events that impact business operations.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network infrastructure.
The Stats:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 8 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Expertise in network design, implementation, and administration, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and best practices.
- Experience with AWS infrastructure management and cloud computing strategies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting tools.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex network infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Industry certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, or equivalent are a plus.
The Company is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary compensation range for this role is $150,000 to $165,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, and parental leave.
