Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Gather and analyze financial information from clients to ensure accurate reporting.
- Review financial documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain organized records of tax documents and client information.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their tax situations, answering questions and providing guidance.
- Perform data entry tasks related to tax preparation and filing.
- Proofread all completed tax returns to ensure accuracy before submission.
- Manage calendars to schedule client appointments efficiently.
- Utilize computerized systems for filing and record-keeping.
- Exhibit strong phone etiquette when communicating with clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tax preparation or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent data entry skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in proofreading documents to ensure accuracy.
- Familiarity with clerical tasks such as filing, typing, and calendar management.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
