What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Coder (Oncology) position at 40HRS, Inc.?
Certified Medical Coder with Oncology experience needed to work in Garden City, NY. This position will be onsite Monday – Friday 8am-4 : 30pm. Ideally candidates will be a Certified Coder with at least 2 year of Oncology Coding. Salary will depend upon experience.REQUIRED SKILLSComputer experience is essential, including, but not limited to practice management software, word processing and spreadsheet applications.Experience in CPT and ICD-10 coding; familiarity with medical terminologyCode all diagnosis, operative procedures, and diagnostic proceduresCodes and abstracts Inpatient records and Ambulatory surgery recordsCodes and abstracts Clinic records utilizing the acuity grid assignedExcellent customer service skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience in filing claim appeals with insurance companies to ensure maximum entitled reimbursement.Responsible use of confidential information.Perform to company standards of compliance with policies and procedures.Ability to multi-task and work courteously and respectfully with fellow employees, clients, and patients.DETAILED WORK ACTIVITIESEnsure all claims are submitted with a goal of zero errors.Verifies completeness and accuracy of all claims prior to submission.Timely follow up on insurance claim denials, exceptions, or exclusions.Reading and interpreting insurance explanation of benefits.Make necessary arrangements for medical records requests, completion of additional information requests, etc. as requested by insurance companies.Respond to inquiries from insurance companies, patients, and providers.Perform additional duties as requested by Supervisory or Management team.LICENSES / CERTIFICATION : Medical Coder CertificationCertified Professional Coder (CPC) / Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) / Certified Coding Specialist (CCSP)2-3 years experience with Oncology Coding
