A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
As a Territorial Utilityman, you will maintain and make minor repairs to structures and grounds; mow lawns, trim shrubbery, rake yards and performs general housecleaning duties; observe station equipment such as switchboard and yard lights to note abnormal conditions; read instructions; record and report conditions in unattended substations in a given area.
Qualifications
The essentials
- Experience using common hand tools and methods used in structural and yard maintenance work using basic station equipment; reading from simple gages and instruments
- Valid CA Driver’s License
The preferred
- Ability to recognize abnormal conditions; service recording instruments and battery; record readings and observation in
- station log.
- Perform gardening and janitorial duties.
- Speak clearly and distinctly over telephone.
- Perform strenuous manual labor.
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are of a level comparable with those normally acquired through a high school education and some general working experience.

- Work Mode: This position’s work mode is On-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
