Schedule: Part Time, M-F 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
We are seeking a motivated Kitchen and Bath Designer with a passion for people and teamwork to join our Team. The position is people focused, fast paced, rewarding. The Kitchen and Bath Designer’s responsibility is to make sales to all customers, assist the store team to achieve all the store’s annual goals including sales, gross margin percent, gross margin dollars, and expenses. Additional duties will be related to sales and maintenance of the showroom, office, displays, and inventory.
Hourly rate is dependent on experience and overall knowledge of the position.
Responsibilities:
- Act as 41 Lumber’s representative and treat all customers and third parties in a courteous and friendly manner
- Be alert to possible sales opportunities and relay them to the Store Manager
- Design layouts for kitchens, bathrooms, and other spaces in homes for cabinetry
- Prepare order documents in a timely manner
- Do take-offs and estimates
- Develop and maintain superior knowledge of all products, vendors, and company procedures
- Develop and maintain a superior knowledge of design software and technology used to design kitchens, baths, and rooms
- Accurately estimate, quote, and sell following company procedures and using available technology
- Make sales calls to job sites, measure spaces for cabinets and design
- Assist customers in yard and warehouse when needed
- Report all customer complaints to the Store Manager
- Assist in developing an effective sales plan for the store that will achieve sales and gross margin goals
- Physically be able to: walk and stand on the job for extended periods of time; frequently bend, squat, reach, lift, carry, push and pull as necessary when stocking merchandise
- Assist with inventory control, weekly cycle counts, and annual physical inventory
- Stock inventory as required and accept deliveries
- Be active in the community; join a builders exchange, service club, or volunteer group
- Participate and attend events (i.e. trade shows, trainings, factory tours, etc.)

Education: High school diploma or experience in a similar role
OR
Experience: three years including sales, marketing, cold calling or relationship building; basic comprehension of the product procurement process; and knowledge of building materials industry a plus
