This job involves managing others and there is a need for someone who can exercise the necessary authority to ensure policies and procedures are followed and time frames are met. At the same time, it will be necessary to give subordinates structured opportunity to develop their own expertise and capability for quality work to assure effective delegation and shared responsibility for work output. It is expected that coaching and training support for achieving effective delegation will be required. The work requires making decisions that support company guidelines authoritatively and quickly.


The successful candidate will have

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
  • CPA license
  • 7-10 years tax experience
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Track record of team leadership or people coaching

In this job, the candidate will

  • Manage multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Maintain a technical, analytical focus
  • Work within established standards and guidelines
  • Utilize their expertise-based problem solving

  • Deliver work based on accepted quality standards, policies and procedures
  • Train and develop others to make correct decisions
  • Manage others who are in roles with clearly defined guidelines
  • Lead others to assure quality standards are met


The core job functions include

  • Review corporate, individual, partnership and other tax returns prepared by associates, while giving feedback for both coaching and accuracy
  • Responsible for specific tax, accounting and consulting engagements
  • Supervise and mentor staff on a number of projects concurrently
  • Directly correspond and communicate with the clients
  • Process engagement responsibilities from beginning to end, including communicating status of assignments
  • Train staff and provide useful feedback throughout engagement
  • Research and resolve technical tax matters
  • Assist with developing additional services for current clients
  • Developing contacts through networking and community involvement and maintaining contacts for referral base
