We seek an experienced Full-Time Controller & Fractional CFO to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tax preparation and filings, financial strategy, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting for our home services and construction clients. This role requires strong accounting expertise, the ability to provide strategic financial guidance, and hands-on involvement in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Tax Preparation & Compliance :
Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for clients.
Ensure tax compliance and provide strategic tax planning advice.
Stay up to date on tax law changes and implications for clients.
Fractional CFO Services :
Provide high-level financial strategy and insights to clients.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Guide clients in making data-driven financial decisions to enhance profitability and growth.
WIP Reporting & Financial Oversight :
Develop and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports to help construction and home service businesses track project profitability.
Oversee financial reporting, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and job costing analysis.
Identify and implement process improvements for financial operations.
Accounting & Financial Management :
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations using QuickBooks Online .
Reconcile accounts and ensure financial accuracy.
Provide clients with financial insights and reporting to improve business performance.
Experience & Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or EA certification preferred.
7 years of accounting, tax, and financial advisory experience.
Expertise in QuickBooks Online and strong proficiency in WIP reporting.
Proven experience working with small businesses, particularly in the home services and construction industries.
Strong understanding of GAAP accounting, tax regulations, and financial best practices.
Ability to explain financial concepts in an accessible way to non-financial business owners.
A proactive, solution-oriented approach to client financial management.
