TITLE: Parent Facilitator
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum High School/GED. Good communication and organizational skills. Working knowledge of computer for email and word processing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership that serves to increase parent, partner, and community involvement in the school.
Familiarizes parents with curriculum requirements to increase involvement in the home.
Solicits parental involvement in the school decision-making process.
Recruits volunteers and tutors.
Organizes seminars that promote parenting, literacy, technology, other job skills, awareness, and education.
Organizes in-service training programs.
Provides appropriate information to parents about community and government assistance programs.
Uses available human and material resources to support the instructional program.
Initiates new programs and instructional activities for parents.
Develops materials and strategies for parents to use to assist students.
Interacts effectively with students, co-workers, parents, and community.
Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core
values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.
Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license. Upload copy of HS Diploma or GED Equiv. Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) when requested, for purposes of driving a school bus.
