Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will assist our customers by diagnosing and repairing issues with vehicles’ performance and function.
As an Auto Mechanic, you must have an in-depth understanding of all trucks (Kenworth) systems and components. You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment.

Responsibilities
Diesel Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities
- Trouble shoot, diagnose repairs on heavy duty vehicles i.e. brake chamber, glad hands, tire and/or rim, battery, air/coolant hose
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Prepare work orders and order parts
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintain good communication with supervisors and/or co-workers and drivers
- Performs thorough, accurate Diagnostic and Preventative Maintenance inspections.
- Following schedules completes all required PM maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
- Diesel experience required
- performs unscheduled maintenance as needed.
- Performs complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests. This requires interpreting and working from drawings, specifications and other technical materials.
- Must be able to utilize a ladder and other elevation equipment to access the roof of tractors and containers and elevated light fixtures for repairs and maintenance.
- Must operate CDL and Non-CDL vehicles tractors and straight trucks to perform road tests, as well as shuttle in an out of the garage for repairs and maintenance. This is a safety sensitive job and all duties are regulated by the DOT.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 100lbs) including brake drums, tires, ladders, tool chests, floor jacks, etc. when necessary.
- Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with all safety provisions associated with vehicle maintenance. Understands OSHA standards and provisions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Associate degree or completion of a diesel service technician training program is preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills are required
