- Job Summary
- Under the supervision of Physician/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to provide quality nursing care for assigned patients. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization. - Under the supervision of the designated supervisor and assigned physician, performs duties associated with direct patient care and clinical direction to provide patient care given in accordance with the organization standards
- Assures completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, assures smooth patient flow, performs general lab work, instructs patients concerning procedures, treatments and needs, and ensures medical orders and referrals are carried out accurately and in a timely manner
- Performs registration and scheduling activities per organizational and departmental procedures
- Maintains EMR files and performs general front office functions as needed
- May perform computerized physician order entry, only if directed by assigned physician
- Expected to precept current MA team members or MA Externs as requested by leadership
- Assists with office procedures/surgeries

- Works in a well-lighted, ventilated and air conditioned area. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Long periods in a stationary position and moving around the unit are required. Risks exposure to disease, infection, physical strain and assault. Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, radiation and antineoplastic agents. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.
- Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
- Education: Graduate of an accredited LPN training program or CMA program
- Experience: Three (3) years LPN/CMA experience in clinical setting preferred. Previous surgical experience preferred.
- EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: (See competency checklist)
- Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
- Current LPN License or CMA in the state of Kentucky.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (successful completion within three [3] months of employment).
