Position Summary:
The Human Resources Clerk is responsible for the daily human resources needs of the organization. While this position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, the Human Resources Clerk must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of payroll processing
- Keep accurate and up to date payroll records and maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Run and review payroll audit reports to identify exceptions each payroll; researching and correcting issues as needed.
- Process all wage attachments (federal levies, garnishments, bankruptcies, student loans, child support, etc.) to ensure correct amounts are calculated, deducted, and distributed as ordered.
- Responsible for tracking all aspects of leave administration including maintaining payroll related records, recording the accumulation and use of vacation, holidays, and all other leaves.
- Responsible for all processing of benefits which include medical, dental, vision, group life, disability, FMLA, FSA/HSA and pension plans.
- Provide information about pay and benefits to new employees at orientation and one-on-one when necessary.
- Track benefit eligibility and assist employees with qualifying events.
- Process benefit changes and benefit terminations.
- Screen and process resumes through the HRIS.
- Assist with applicant tracking.
- Assist with candidate selection process: reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, reference checks, and employment verifications.
- Conduct interviews.
- Prepare offer letters, process all pre-hire paperwork, including registering applicants for fingerprint appointments during their meeting with HR, complete and submit pre-hire background checks and send them to their drug screen.
- Keep applicants and supervisors apprised of the status of their pre-hire requirements and schedule for orientation when everything is received.
- Follow up with new associates on incomplete paperwork.
- Assist with orientation and provide additional support to fill in training gaps when necessary.
- Set up orientation schedules and notify managers and associates of attendees.
- Assign and track new hire training in the HRIS.
- Enter new hire information into HRIS, and ensure all other paperwork is complete and signed (such as handbook signatures, etc.)
- Process all I9 and E-Verify for new hires.
- Create electronic orientation and personnel files.
- Take associate pictures, create, and process all name badges.
- Audit associate files as needed.
- Track auto insurance and notify associates when they are getting close to expiring or are out of compliance.
- Complete annual MVR checks.
- Respond to and file HR correspondence.
- Complete and document sanction (OIG/SAM) checks.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Education:
- A High School graduate or GED required. An Associates Degree or higher, or a certification in business or human resources preferred but not required.
Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office environment
- Prior experience in human resources and working with HRIS system preferred
Skills/Knowledge:
- Knowledge of data entry processes with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work with confidential information, using discretion and maintaining confidentiality
- Must be organized and pay close attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize work and remain flexible
