Planning Team

Job Location: San Luis Obispo, Clovis, or Visalia

Schedule: Monday - Thursday: 9 hours / Friday: 4 hours

Position Overview and Key Responsibilities:

4Creeks is seeking an Associate Planner to work under the direction of a Senior Planner in our Planning Group to complete various technical and non-technical tasks. This position offers exposure to diverse planning disciplines while developing expertise in your chosen specialty area of Municipal, Environmental, or Land Use.

Our Planning Group comprises three departments (Municipal, Land Use, and Environmental). Based on your experience and interests, you'll join one department with opportunities for cross-training. You'll handle various design and analytical tasks for both private and public-sector projects. Essential duties and responsibilities will be to assist in conceptual land development designs, master plan documents, research and data collection, land use application and entitlements processing, environmental compliance, and/or report preparation.

Responsibilities for this position would include, but not limited to the following:

• Conduct research and analysis of city and county municipal codes and required planning documents for project implementation.
• Prepare master/specific plans, Conceptual design, environmental documents, and other required planning documents for various projects. Use of ACAD, Photoshop, Sketchup, In-Design are programs to be used to create the required designs.
• Create maps, analysis and implementation, web-based systems utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Prepare required documents, plans, and ordinances as required by various City clients.
• Provide required graphic design details/documents for various projects.
• The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance implementation. Basic knowledge of Planning and Zoning Law, CEQA, site design, planning principles, and/or agency procedure is desirable.

Minimum Qualifications

1. The position requires a B.S. in Urban Planning, City and Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience.

3. The ideal candidate will have high customer service ethic, ability to understand quickly to follow instructions, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

4. Experience using AutoCAD, Adobe products, ArcMap(GIS), and Sketchup is preferred.

5. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel is required.

Compensation

The salary will be determined by the candidates skill and experience level and highly competitive with industry standards. The benefits package includes full employee health coverage (50% coverage for dependents), company 401(k) contribution, participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), and performance bonuses. The expected pay range for this position is $28 - $38 an hour.
