- The Cannabis Veg Manager oversees the daily operations of the vegetative department and is responsible for all tasks and activities pertaining to the growth and health of cannabis plants in their vegetative phase. This position ensures that all procedures comply with local and state regulations while fostering a positive and productive team environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a proven track record in large-scale cannabis cultivation, demonstrating a deep understanding of plant biology and horticultural practices.
- Full shift availability (nights, weekends, and holidays may be required)
- $60,000-$70,000 Experience dependent
- Implement and manage all company policies and procedures
- Consistently communicate with upper management while ensuring the needs of all employees are met and high morale maintained
- Oversee the hiring, training, coaching, and development of all employees in the unit
- Conduct feedback sessions with all staff while reviewing performance and setting goals
- Align with Director of Cultivation to set, meet, and manage all financial and operational goals
- Oversee and maintain all staff schedules based on the operational needs of the department
- Work cross-functionally through the operation and maintain a hands-on “lead by example” approach
- Maintain accurate records and inventory through METRC and internal logs
- Delegate, coach, and empower the department to achieve optimal performance
- Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed by all employees in the department
- Create a crop schedule and adjust based upon genetic availability and plant health while successfully accomplishing all daily and weekly crop goals.
- Enforce adherence to fertilization, irrigation, plant work and feed schedules
- Oversee all aspects of the Veg Department including promoting growth in height and leaf development after successful rooting
- Conduct daily walk-throughs monitoring all growing methods including plant nutrition, beneficial control agents, and fertigation while ensuring growth requirements and scheduling of all plants are consistently achieved
- Partner with the other Cultivation Managers to ensure compliance, record keeping, documentation, flow efficiencies, requests, and any site needs are met
- Assist in all areas to ensure the team, department, and company division maintain success
- 21 and currently residing in the USA
- Horticulture and/or Agricultural Experience, 5 years (preferred)
- Management Experience, 3 years (preferred)
- Cannabis Industry Experience, 3 years (preferred)
- Advanced Communication, Math, Organizational, and Computer Skills
- Dispensing Organization Agent Identification Card (ability to obtain upon hire)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Botany, Agriculture, or related field; or, Industry Training Equivalent
- Fast-paced, warehouse-like, and rapid-changing environment
- Manufacturing facility with industrially lit rooms and heavy machinery that may produce loud sounds
- Indoor greenhouse environments and grow rooms with elevated temperatures and humidity
- Plant pollen and extraction fumes may be present on surfaces and in the air
- Protective suits may be required (provided on site)
- Kneeling, squatting, lifting, bending, walking, pivoting, and long-term standing (all expected activities)
- Lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- *NOTE: The facility contains confined spaces that may only be accessible by ascending/descending stairwells while traveling throughout building.
