The Inventory Control Specialist is a key subject matter expert responsible for overseeing inventory integrity, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring seamless coordination between inventory systems and operational demands. This advanced role plays a critical part in enhancing inventory processes, leading audits, supporting cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that align with business goals.
\n- Inventory Optimization: Lead inventory management efforts using the state-mandated Management System, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with production forecasts and operational targets.
- Advanced Auditing & Analytics: Design and execute detailed cycle count programs and physical inventory audits. Analyze data trends to identify root causes of discrepancies and implement preventative measures.
- Receiving & Logistics Oversight: Oversee the verification and documentation of incoming and outgoing materials. Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and regulatory standards during material handling and storage.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Maintain accurate transaction records in the inventory management system. Generate detailed performance and reconciliation reports, providing insights to management and recommending process improvements.
- Replenishment Strategy: Collaborate with procurement, planning, and production teams to forecast inventory needs and lead strategic replenishment efforts, ensuring uninterrupted operations.
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Serve as a compliance lead for all inventory-related activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety guidelines, GMP, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the inventory liaison for Production, Procurement, QA, and Logistics teams. Lead coordination efforts to align inventory practices with company-wide goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving inventory workflows, system configurations, and warehouse layout strategies. Lead or support initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving accuracy, and increasing efficiency.
- Education: High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain roles, with demonstrated expertise in advanced inventory practices.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel proficiency required). Familiarity with barcode/RFID technology and data analysis tools is a plus.
- Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to maintain meticulous records and identify process gaps or inconsistencies in high-volume environments.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex inventory issues and implement effective solutions.
- Leadership & Initiative: Ability to work independently, lead projects, and provide mentorship or guidance to inventory team members.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50, navigate warehouse environments, and perform hands-on inventory tasks as needed.
