Foster Care Supervisor
Are you called to a meaningful career advocating for Hope, Homes, and Healing for children in foster care? The Foster Care Supervisor is utilized to lead a team of Foster Parent Support Specialists to identify and carry out support services for foster families within the agency. The position will also assist with licensing and relicensing procedures to ensure support and follow through for prospective foster families.
Job Duties:
- Assist, support, and maintain open lines of communication with foster families throughout the C.A.R.E/P.R.I.D.E. class and licensing process
- Participate in recruitment efforts when needed
- Compile, review, and follow through with completion of the licensing documentation packages required by law and ensuring timely submission of packages to DCF/Community Base Care Agency’s Foster Parent Licensing Unit
- Track and assist with yearly licensing of foster families by identifying whether or not they were licensed within 100 days of the commencement of foster parent training.
- Continue ongoing support for licensed foster families - facilitating positive working relationship between family, agency, and support worker
- Ensure case files with appropriate documentation and requirements are maintained
- Be aware of changes in legislation and/or other requirements concerning training and licensing of foster families and be able to communicate changes and incorporate into licensing process
- Assist in the hiring of new staff
- Train new employees
- Review, edit and sign home studies, incident reports, and mileage reimbursement forms of Foster Parent Support Specialists
- Provide supervision for assigned Foster Care staff
- Conduct Foster Care Support staff meetings
- Serve as a technical resource for new and existing employees
- Complete employee evaluations for all assigned workers
- Provide spiritual guidance and direction to staff and volunteers
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work or a related area of study from an accredited college or university and at least two years of experience in human services or child welfare programs. A bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university or related area of study and four years of experience in human services or child welfare programs may be substituted. A doctorate in social work or a related area of study may be substituted for one year of the required experience (65C-15.017).
- Prior experience in child welfare or human services
- Availability to work some evening and Saturday hours as needed
- Must demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs: Outlook, Word, Excel

- Current Child Welfare Certification is required
- Must maintain valid Florida driver's license and have reliable transportation that can be used for work purposes
