Job Overview:
An architectural plan reviewer is responsible for reviewing and evaluating architectural plans and designs to ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, zoning laws, and safety standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of construction projects while promoting the safety, accessibility, and aesthetic value of the built environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review of Architectural Plans:
- Evaluate architectural designs, drawings, and construction documents for compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and local laws.
- Identify any design, structural, or safety concerns and provide feedback to architects, engineers, and contractors.•Ensure that plans meet accessibility standards, environmental regulations, and sustainability requirements.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with changes to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
- Verify that all construction plans conform to the necessary safety and regulatory standards.
- Advise architects and builders on how to make necessary revisions to comply with codes and guidelines.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with architects, engineers and construction managers to review plans, provide recommendations, and resolve issues.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
- Prepare reports, summary evaluations, and recommendations for building permit issuance.
4. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain organized records of reviewed plans, permits, correspondence, and approvals.
- Document any plan discrepancies or issues and track progress on plan revisions.
5. Quality Control:
- Monitor and ensure the consistency of architectural plans with the overall quality standards of the organization or jurisdiction.
- Provide recommendations for design improvements or alterations to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Architect
- 10 years of experience (Municipal, Project Management)
- Commercial project experience including education and medical
- CASp certification is a plus
- Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and construction standards
Job Type:
- Remote or hybrid schedule available
- Part-time or Full-time positions available (FT preferred)
4LEAF anticipates paying between $47.79 - $65.72 per hour for this position, commensurate with experience and depending upon the location at which the individual is hired to work.
