Summary : The Plating Technician is responsible for the creation and on time delivery of offset printing plates to the Press Department, utilizing, maintaining and troubleshooting our Kodak Prinergy, Kodak Magnus Platesetter and Kimori machines.
Schedule : 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.
Salary Range: $16.00 To 18.00 Hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Set up, configure and operate the computer to print (CTP) plating equipment
- Access the batching system to view press schedule and identify priority jobs to be completed
- Examine job orders to determine quantity to be printed, stock specifications, color(s) and special printing instructions
- Liaise with press crew to identify and troubleshoot problems between plate and press
- Monitor department supplies and inform management of any potential production issues that may impact the press schedule
- Monitor equipment and performance ensuring optimum performance and for job quantity reporting along with defect and quality checks
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstation are in good working order and is free of safety hazards
- Report workplace hazards to management immediately
- Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
- Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
- Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
- Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Attend all department/company meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Experience And Qualifications
EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES:
- Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience with Kodak Prinergy, Kodak Magnus Platesetter, Kimori or similar brand of equipment
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- Ability to read and comprehend job assignment tickets and customer instructional specifications
- Proficient computer knowledge
- Effectively communicate with all members of the organization
- Excellent attention to detail
- Quality, production, attention to detail, and team oriented
- Ability to adapt to schedule changes based on the needs of production
- Ability to cross train and work in other departments and/or machines
