Stack Tester - Emissions Testing (Oilfield) Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Stack Tester to join our team in performing emissions testing on stationary natural gas-fired engines in remote oilfield locations. This role is 80% travel-based, requiring extensive travel across the lower 48 states. Candidates must be comfortable with a demanding travel schedule, working at heights, and meeting physical and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct emissions testing on natural gas-fired engines at various oilfield sites.
- Set up, operate, and maintain testing equipment in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collect and analyze data using Windows-based software.
- Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of test results.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working at heights up to 75 feet.
- Travel to job sites, typically following a schedule of 2 weeks on the road and 1 week at the shop or off.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must reside in Abilene, TX or the immediate surrounding area.
- Legal resident of the United States.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license for operating a company-provided vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 75 feet, following strict safety guidelines.
- Familiarity and proficiency with Windows operating systems for data collection and reporting including Microsoft Excel.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the lower 48 states, with typical trips spanning Sunday to Friday.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with all workplace regulations.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varying site conditions.

Travel Expectations
This position requires significant travel, with approximately 80% of work conducted at remote oilfield sites. Employees can expect to be on the road for up to 2 weeks at a time, typically leaving Sunday and returning Friday night for two weeks in a row, followed by 1 week at the shop or off -duty (8 hour days max at the shop when required but expect down time for recovery during off weeks).
