Job Summary:
As a Member Support Specialist you will be responsible for providing a variety of paying and receiving functions, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier’s checks, teller checks, and cash advances. You’ll also assist members with account maintenance, bookkeeping, and checking account issues, while ensuring prompt and professional service.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Represent the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner, maintaining the Credit Union’s quality reputation.
- Maintain knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures.
- Process deposits, loan payments, cashier’s checks, transfers, and disburse cash or check withdrawals.
- Open and close teller drawers daily, balancing transactions and verifying cash totals at the end of each day.
- Assist with member inquiries, resolve account issues, and present Credit Union products/services.
- Perform file maintenance, account changes, and account-related tasks as needed.
- Cross-sell Credit Union services and assist with related clerical duties.
- Process debit card applications, disputes, and assist with card management.
- Perform drive-up teller and night drop functions, if assigned.
- Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
Qualifications:
- Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Required Knowledge: Knowledge of Teller policies and procedures; basic understanding of Credit Union operations.
- Experience: Abilities generally acquired within 12 months on the job.
- Skills/Abilities: Good communication, math, typing, and computer skills. Professional appearance and attitude.
Physical Activities and Requirements:
- Talking: Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Hearing: Must be able to hear average conversations.
- Dexterity: Ability to make small movements with fingers for typing and handling small objects.
- Strength: Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally (mainly office tasks).
- Visual Abilities: Ability to prepare or inspect documents or products.
Mental Activities and Requirements:
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense and deal with problems involving a few variables.
- Mathematics: Ability to perform basic math, use decimals, and interpret graphs.
- Language: Ability to communicate effectively and write in complex sentences with proper punctuation.

- No hazardous or unpleasant working conditions (typical office environment).
