Responsibilities
HR Functions:
- Assist with day-to-day HR operations, including compensation, benefits, leave administration, and employee relations.
- Administer timesheet and PTO management systems.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, updating policies as needed.
- Support performance management programs, including employee development, training, and conducting annual performance reviews.
- Handle inquiries related to HR policies, employee benefits, and employment issues, providing timely guidance and solutions.
- Manage employee engagement and morale programs to foster a positive work environment and enhance employee satisfaction.
- Coordinate and implement occupational health and safety initiatives, ensuring workplace safety and legal compliance.
- Identify staffing needs and collaborate with the hiring manager to recruit top talent for various positions.
- Develop and post job descriptions across various platforms.
- Conduct interviews, assess candidates for cultural fit, and perform reference/background checks.
- Assist in organizing recruitment events, career fairs, and networking efforts to attract talent.
- Analyze and optimize the recruitment process to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and candidate experience.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of employee information in compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Support the HR team in developing and executing employee retention strategies.
- Administer the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and assist in process automation to streamline HR functions.
- Contribute to employee engagement, sustainability, and community relations efforts.
Required Experience And Skills
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4 to 6 years of experience in a similar HR role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations (DOL, EEOC, FMLA, etc.).
- Experience with employee benefits administration, recruiting, and performance management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Spanish.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and familiarity with HRIS systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, be detail-oriented, and work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
- SHRM certification or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
