A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMERCIAL MECHANICAL SUPERINTENDENT
In this construction management position, you play a vital part in our company operating smoothly and successfully. With attentiveness to detail, you supervise projects by managing the completion schedule, leading the crew, and ensuring high-performance standards. Your ability to read and comprehend blueprints allows you to effectively identify requirements for each project, provide layout support, and manage project labor and material. During each project, you ensure that key mechanical work milestones and deliveries are met. You also coordinate the rental, placement, and storage of materials, tools, and supplies.
You thoroughly inspect all completed work to hold your team accountable for the adherence to local codes and company quality standards. Your professional, candid, and optimistic nature assist you in motivating the crew and maintaining high employee morale. Additionally, you build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and customers using your exceptional rapport and communication skills. QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Journeyman license
- OSHA 10 certification
- 10 years of experience in the mechanical trades with specialty
- 10 years of experience in the commercial construction sector
- Experience in plumbing, electrical, and piping sheet metal fabrication and layout
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to attain the needed clearance to access government buildings and military bases
