A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BOOKKEEPER
As a Bookkeeper, you come to work eager to ensure the smooth running of our accounting department. At times, you apply yourself to accounts payable, creating purchase orders, posting accounts payable invoices, and more. At others, accounts receivable needs your attention. You create accounts receivable invoices, make collection calls, and so on. Other tasks also include:
- Setting up a paperless office system including organized storage of all correspondence, contracts, bills, POs, liens, and other documents related to construction projects and accounting
- Preparing submittals, warranties, change orders and po's for projects
- Preparing project budgets, including cost schedules, and working with field personnel to stay within those budgets-communicating any variances to upper management, and re-budgeting or re-forecasting as necessary
- Process all accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process monthly job pay applications for the GC
- Recognize revenue appropriately throughout the course of the projects
- Preparation of monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements and month-end close) GL account review and reconciliation including G&A analysis
- Job cost analysis and reporting
- Prepare audit work papers and schedules
- Participate in software conversion and updates
- Analysis of project expenditures and project accounting transactions

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of QuickBooks experience
- 5 years of Procore experience
- At least 5 years of experience with construction accounting
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience in the HVAC / mechanical construction industry
