Job Summary
Under supervision of Center Manager will work independently to perform office responsibilities related to reception, registration and checkout of patients. Under supervision of physician/nurse practitioner, physician assistant, provides quality nursing care for assigned patients. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization. Contributes to the effective operations of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
Responsibilities
- Supports management and leadership
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
- EMR (Electronic Medical Record) data entry
- Obtaining vital signs on each patient
- Assist physician with gathering patient history
- Ensures patients are prepared for their planned procedures including proper education, follow-up plans and post procedure instructions
- Draft preliminary reports and letters for the physician through the EMR system
- Present reports and letters to physician for revision and final approval
- Greet patients and escort them to the exam rooms
- Ensure that rooms are stocked accordingly
- Clean and prepare rooms
- Assist with room and tray set up for patient procedures
- Prepare and maintain charts for new and existing patients. Verify that all information is correct and up to date
- General administrative duties as directed by Office Manager
- Confirm insurance benefits as noted on patient chart
- Demonstrating knowledge of scheduling
- Strong organization with attention to detail

Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
Works in a well lighted, ventilated and air conditioned area. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Long periods in a stationary position and moving around the unit are required. Risks exposure to disease, infection, physical strain and assault. Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, radiation and antineoplastic agents. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.

Patient, family members and significant others, physicians and Associates, other healthcare providers, community resource personnel, administrative staff and Organizational support services.
Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
Experience: Preferred one (1) year CMA experience in clinical setting with previous work history considered.
Education: Graduate of an accredited CMA training program preferred.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
Current CMA Certificate in the State of Kentucky preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (successful completion within three [3] months of employment).
