· Our company was created within 5AM Ventures' 4:59 Initiative in 2023. We are based in Watertown, MA with brand new, custom lab and office space underway!
- You will be integrated into a cross-functional drug discovery team where you will be a key contributor in our early research programs
- You will directly contribute to and complement our existing technical expertise in biochemical and cellular assay development to enhance and accelerate research, as well as foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Successfully develop biochemical and cellular assays for compound screening and mechanism of action studies.
- Effectively manage external partnersfor assay development and compound testing.
- Serve as a functional lead for projects and identify critical experiments that will assist in achieving key milestones.
- Partner with Chemistry and other function areas to ensure robust data set to enable rapid decisions and clear and concise presentations across the company and external partners.
- Contribute to new target identification and validation through detailed evaluation of published biology, biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology information.
- You have spent at least 5 years gaining industry experience in pharma and/or biotech, operating in a multidisciplinary drug discovery team environment.
- You earned your Ph.D in a life science-related discipline and have at least 5 years experience in pharma and/or biotech conducting assay development, biophysics, and/or enzymology.
- You know drug discovery is a team sport. You’re a collaborative colleague and can work effectively in cross-functional team setting.
- Extensive experience working with a wide range of CRO partners in varied areas of assay development is required.
- Skilled in rigorous data analysis, results presentation, data documentation, and scientific communication.
- Strong track record of in vitro biochemical assay development and familiarity with various assay formats such as fluorescence, luminescence, TR-FRET, AlphaLISA, etc.
- Working knowledge of cell-based assay development and appropriate assay technologies is preferred
- Experience in mechanistic enzymology and biophysical methods such as SPR, MST, ITC, DSF, NMR is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize experiments

- You have a track record of scientific vigor and creativity in carrying out research
