POSITION: Triage Team Specialist (Clerk 5)
CLASSIFICATION: Unit I.D. 1601, Union Local 249
LOCATION: Family Division, Adult Section, 440 Ross Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219
STATUS: Full-Time, Benefits Eligible; Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
SALARY: $40,405.18 - $47,535.50
SUMMARY: This position will perform advanced customer service activities while providing timely and accurate information to litigant inquiries and/or complaints. The use of multiple communication channels will be utilized by the specialist. The focus will be child/spousal support payments, Pro Se Motion scheduling, and other Court related matters for Family Division cases; and ensure professional and courteous client service. The goal of this position is to problem solve, resolve and if needed, escalate to the appropriate area.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education post high school preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle in-person inquiries and telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment while dealing with the public.
- Two years related experience in a customer service or public service environment preferred.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills necessary to research and explain case and financial information.
- Computer skills, typing and/or data entry skills; Windows environment, Microsoft Office, TEAMs and Outlook experience preferred.
- Good writing and composition skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist litigants in-person, over the phone, or via email.
- Respond to messages from an IVR system (Interactive Voice Response System) and process accordingly.
- Receive and process in-person inquiries, mail-imaging Tasks, and email inquiries to provide information to litigants, attorneys and Family Division staff; check-in and route litigants.
- Research case specific information.
- Email appropriate documents and/or forms based on requests and needs of litigants.
- Access and verify demographic information given by the litigant; update computer with authorized information.
- Review the financial data to verify its accuracy. Identify and discuss issues with the Financial Department and respond to litigants accordingly.
- Develop and maintain ability to identify and assist litigants of Inter-County, interstate, international, and Tribal cases.
- Pursue in-depth problems and requests and make referrals as necessary for further case processing.
- Receive Pro Se Motions from litigants and take all actions needed to schedule appropriately.
