Security & Parking Lot Attendant

The 5th Street Public Market, Eugene’s premier shopping destination, is looking for a new team member to fill the role of Security and Parking Lot Attendant.

The 5th Street Public Market is an EOE and drug-free workplace. Must pass drug screen.

A current State of Oregon DPSST Unarmed Security Certificate card is optimal, but not required.

The primary responsibility for this position is to monitor the buildings and premises of the Market District, endeavoring to identify suspicious activities and protect the tenants and their assets.

Additional security responsibilities include:

  • Daily patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
  • Remove wrongdoers (violators) or trespassers from the area
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring entire District, and inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures. Protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire, or other safety issues.
  • Adhere to all company service and operating procedures.
  • Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions and report immediately to Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Provide assistance to people in need.
  • Respond immediately to Security calls from tenants.
  • Submit weekly reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences to Supervisor.
  • Remain in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Trained in First Aid - know where all A-fib machines are located.

PARKING OBJECTIVE: Keep customer parking lots free of all employees to encourage more patronage of the Market District.

Additional parking responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring tenant employees are parking in the appropriate spaces according to their permits.
  • Prevent vehicles from parking in the Market District lots without proper authorizations.
  • Observe people exiting cars and "walking off' to other ares besides the Market District.
  • Observe and report conditions that might be dangerous to the Public.
  • Walking all lots multiple times during each shift, scanning all license plates.
  • Issuing violations as necessary.
  • Answers questions from the public pertaining to proper use of the parking lots
  • Answer general questions from the public pertaining to the Market
  • Give directions to anyone inquiring about purchasing permits or where to pay a parking violation
  • Keep parking areas clean and orderly to ensure that space usage is maximized.
  • Patrol parking ares to prevent vehicle damage and vehicle or property thefts.
  • Call tow trucks if vehicle is parked illegally
  • Weekly Reports to Supervisor

MUST HAVES

Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills!

Read, write, and speak English fluently

Ability to communicate effectively with guess, visitors, vendors, partners, and other employees.

Observant and responsive

Able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced demanding environment

Previous security work preferred.

Ability to use cell phone and Blue-tooth printer

Familiarity with report writing.'

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

  • Security: 1 year (Required)
