Job Title: Senior Merchandiser, UGG Apparel & Accessories, Direct to Consumer Reports to: Director of Merchandising, DTC Location: Remote The Role The Senior Merchandiser is responsible for driving strategies and results in a high growth business for the UGG Apparel & Accessories division for North America Retail and eCommerce channels. This individual is responsible for merchandising an assortment that supports key items, strategies, and current trends that will enable financial goals of the North America UGG DTC channel. The position will report to the Director of North America Merchandising. This individual will influence, drive, and support respective divisional strategies and financial targets. The Senior Merchandiser will engage with a number of cross-functional teams including Brand Product, Design, DTC Planning and Allocation, Demand and Supply Planning, Visual Merchandising, GTM, Retail Field/Operations, e-Commerce, and Consumer Insights. Your Impact The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to: Pre-Season Merchandising Partner with Manager to gain alignment with Brand Product and Planning teams on long range planning and implement strategies to support. Align product briefs to range plans and MFP plans. Develop DTC range plans that deliver brand and channel objectives. Collaborate with Brand Product and regional DTC Merchandising teams to ensure DTC range plans support global consistency and appropriate brand positioning. Guide the tops-down sales, margin, inventory, and style-color count targets for the upcoming season, considering brand strategies, product knowledge, sales history, and channel trends. Flex strategic approaches for both mature and emerging categories. Drive a deep understanding of the DTC customer. Apply insights to product assortments and Go to Market strategies. Collaborate closely with North America Wholesale Merchandising to create a North America marketplace perspective on product strategies. Create assortment plans for stores that achieve style-color count targets and productivity targets while creating a customer experience that is cohesive with the brand and channel initiatives. Incorporate field feedback and identify revenue-driving opportunities that evolve store assortments over time. Ensure cohesion across storytelling and cross category. Collaborate with retail and visual merchandising leaders on Go to Market strategies for the season. Oversee alignment on GTM plans and strategies to drive key store windows, hero tables, and store team outfitting. Guide the bottoms-up planning of merchandising assortments through strategic ranking, ensuring sales, margin, and inventory plans support merchandising vision while meeting financial and operational needs. In-Season Merchandising Coordinate merchandising insight based on actual results versus pre-season plans, in-season forecasts, and history. Own and manage various projects for the DTC team. Contribute to cohesive cross-functional partnership, aligning insights and action plans to optimize sales, margin, and inventory KPIs. Take an action-oriented approach to managing the business each week: Make recommendations for the current pricing calendar, marketing, and visual presentations. Partner with Allocation to optimize inventory by store and across channels. Make recommendations for exit strategies for slow sellers. Partner with Wholesale & Outlet to optimize end of season inventory closeouts. Maintain integrity of assortment, finding a balance between delivering pre-season product strategies and flexing to meet business needs in-season. Identify and action on business opportunities through analyzing sales performance and gathering marketplace information. Provide forward-looking product-driven inputs to monthly Open to Buy meetings. Analyze quarterly hindsight data, including consumer insights and leveraging of resources and tools. Make recommendations to future product lines and DTC assortments based on results and learnings. People Management Manage a team of 1 person. Contribute to a culture within the DTC organization that emphasizes passion for the consumer and product, a drive for results, high cross-functional collaboration, and a responsible mindset. Balance workload and priorities across departments, teams, and individuals to ensure successful execution of targets. Foster a team culture that supports business objectives and Deckers values. Develop and mentor team on core competencies to support job satisfaction, retention, and future talent development. Must have the ability to manage up, down and across with positive results. We’d love to hear from people with 3-5 years of experience in retail. 1 years managing others. Retail experience required; additional Ecommerce experience preferred Footwear and apparel experience preferred. Proficient in Excel and retail math. Able to see the big picture and the details. Proven track record of analyzing and delivering financial results. Able to partner and influence across a matrixed organization. Strong communication & problem-solving skills. High taste level and passion for product. Must be willing to travel 10%-15% of the time.
