JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Special Programs is responsible for key elements of 603 Legal Aid’s (603LA) leadership and program management. Encompassing supervisory responsibilities, program oversight, and strategic responsibilities, the Director of Special Programs will supervise 603 Legal Aid's centralized intake unit and manage 603LA initiatives that stem from new funding sources. This role ensures the successful delivery of client-centered services through an industry-leading statewide intake unit, as well as development and implementation programming that contributes to the overall mission and efficiency of 603 Legal Aid.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of 603 Legal Aid’s centralized intake unit, ensuring effective and efficient client-centered service delivery.
- Develop and launch initiatives at 603LA based on new funding sources.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of 603LA programs and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all professional and ethical standards of excellence.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and processes, or the ability and motivation to learn.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of experience in program management, supervision, or related roles.
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school preferred.
- Familiarity with areas of poverty law or legal aid services is preferred.
- Experience working with people who have low-income, including at least a working knowledge of trauma-informed service to others.
- Advanced proficiency in computer technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and client database systems.
- Experience with technology-driven projects or innovation is a plus.
- Spanish language or other language skills preferred.
- Eligibility to practice law in New Hampshire or the ability to obtain licensure preferred.
SALARY/BENEFITS: This position is full-time (37.5 hours weekly) and considered non-exempt for the purpose of federal wage/hour law. Salary will depend on experience, at a level commensurate with director-level responsibilities, and a robust benefits package that includes health insurance, life and disability insurance, a 403(b)-retirement program, and generous paid time off.
