Customer Service Sales Associate

We are seeking a Part-Time and a Full Time Gift & Merchandise "Merch n Ice" Shop Associate located at the corner of S. Kihei Rd & Uwapo Rd. next to Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice and Sugar Beach Bake Shop. Full Time position will be scheduled to work 4 - 5 days (9:00am - 5:30). Part Time position will be scheduled to work 2 -3 days. You must be available at least one weekend day.

Job Responsibilities

As a retail sales associate, you will be the face of our brand, engaging with guests to provide a positive shopping experience. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming customers with a friendly demeanor, offering product information, and assisting them in finding gift items.
• Understanding and promoting current sales, promotions, to enhance the customer experience and drive sales.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including restocking shelves, and ensuring product areas meet merchandising standards.
• Answering customer inquiries regarding products, store policies, and services, providing knowledgeable and helpful responses to enhance satisfaction.
• Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing payments, handling returns, and managing customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Assisting in inventory management tasks, including receiving shipments, conducting stock counts, and reporting low stock or product discrepancies to management.
• Supporting loss prevention efforts by monitoring the sales floor, reporting suspicious activity, and following security policies.
• Collaborating with fellow team members to achieve sales targets, meet store goals, and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Reporting to the Owner ensures that daily tasks align with store goals and standards.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Must-have:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math skills and managing sales transactions accurately.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods, in alignment with the physical demands of retail work.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-have:

• Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
• Familiarity with POS systems and other retail technology.
• An interest in t-shirt trends, and tourism driven items to better connect with our customers.

Success Criteria

To excel in this role, as a retail sales associate we expect you to:

• Meet or exceed individual sales targets and contribute to the overall sales performance.
• Deliver outstanding customer service, as measured by positive customer feedback and a satisfaction rating of 90% or higher.
• Maintain a consistently high level of product knowledge.
• Demonstrate initiative in keeping the sales floor organized, addressing customer needs.
• Exhibit reliability and punctuality, consistently adhering to scheduled shifts and availability.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
