Job Function
Reporting into the Plant Manager, the Shipping & Supply Chain Supervisor will be based out of New Castle, DE and will be responsible for planning production including raw materials and supervises shipping and receiving employees for the New Castle site.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a master production plan that factors in raw material requirements, manufacturing capacity, and customer receipt requirements.
- Plan, order and receive raw materials and packaging supplies to support OTIF performance.
- Develop and maintain control procedures and strategies to ensure inventory accuracy and to optimize inventory turnover consistent with on-time customer deliveries.
- Function as main liaison between Customer Service, Supply Chain Planning, and Operations personnel determining and communicating the production priorities.
- Negotiates and/or administers contracts and schedules production.
- Manage and post supply chain and production key performance indicators
- Oversee inventory counts and reconciliation
- Supervise hourly material handlers and manage warehouse orderliness
- Integral part of monthly closing process: verification of production, material issues, inventories and production job creation.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise with purchasing, planning, and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of inventory systems.
- Strong computer skills.
Preferred Experience
- MSHA certification/experience
