Concrete Project Manager & Estimator
Job Summary :
The Concrete Project Manager & Estimator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of concrete construction projects, from estimating costs and preparing bids to managing project execution and ensuring timely completion. This role requires strong technical knowledge of concrete work, budgeting skills, and leadership abilities to coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and team members effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
Estimating Duties :
Analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop accurate cost estimates.
Prepare detailed material takeoffs, labor estimates, and pricing for concrete projects.
Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and quality materials.
Identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities in project estimates.
Assist in proposal preparation, bid submissions, and contract negotiations.
Project Management Duties :
Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of concrete construction projects.
Coordinate with clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and quality standards.
Manage field operations, including labor force, equipment, and material logistics.
Address and resolve project challenges, changes, and unforeseen conditions.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct site visits and meetings to assess project performance and resolve issues.
Maintain detailed project documentation, including reports, budgets, and schedules.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Experience in concrete construction, estimating, and project management.
Strong knowledge of concrete materials, forming systems, reinforcing, finishing, and curing processes.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Understanding of OSHA safety regulations and construction industry best practices.
Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in concrete estimating and / or project management.
Experience in commercial, industrial, or residential concrete construction projects.
Work Environment :
Combination of office work and on-site project visits.
May require travel to job sites, client meetings, and industry events.
