The Opportunity: 

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a Cloud Engineer, you know how to implement cloud capabilities. On our team of experienced professionals, you’ll use cutting-edge enterprise cloud platforms to support your clients as they modernize their IT infrastructure and meet their most challenging missions. We’re looking for someone like you to help modernize the Department of Defense. 

You’ll closely collaborate with fellow cloud architects and engineers specializing in Azure to define, develop, and test cloud solution components. You’ll have the chance to work within a DevOps framework to create and manage container apps and use products like Kubernetes to further the mission. With access to our internal labs, you’ll have the space and time to explore different ways of solving our clients’ problems, and you’ll partner with stakeholders and your team to deliver the right technical solutions. Whether modernizing legacy computing platforms and applications or creating new ones from scratch, you’ll have the latest tech and brightest teammates at your fingertips.

You Have:  

• 3 years of experience deploying, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure

• 3 years of experience working with Azure-native tools and services such as Azure Resource Manager, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, or Azure Security Center

• 3 years of experience implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates

• 3 years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

• 3 years of experience troubleshooting and resolving performance, security, and availability issues in Azure environments

• Knowledge of Azure cost optimization strategies and tools, including Azure Cost Management or Advisor, and monitoring and alerting tools, including Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or Log Analytics

• Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions in Azure such as Azure Backup or Site Recovery

• Ability to implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) policies, including Azure Active Directory and role-based access control (RBAC)

• TS/SCI clearance

• Bachelor's degree

  

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience with DoD and federal standards such as NIST and FedRAMP

• Experience with DoD 365 tools and workflows, including Teams and SharePoint

• Experience in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or Bash

• Master’s degree

• Azure Certification, including Azure Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Security Engineer Associate Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
