The Opportunity:

As a Communications Systems Test Engineer, you will work in a laboratory team environment and help a Test Lead design, develop, and execute operational scripts and unit tests for use in wireless communications systems such as communication satellite payloads and associated ground terminals.

You will be given adequate training to help identify key requirements, create test plans, and apply a programming and scripting skill set to implement system level integration unit-level tests. You will be responsible for troubleshooting system issues by applying a working knowledge of system architecture, including software, firmware, and RF components, to identify root cause for system failures. You will also support the hands-on diagnosis of issues which arise during the integration and testing process and work closely with software, firmware, and hardware teams to identify and remedy issues.

You Have: 

• Experience with system test planning and test execution

• Experience with the Linux operating system

• Experience with JSON-RPC for the vendor interface

• Experience with microservices such as Kubernetes and Docker

• Experience programming with JavaScript or Python and Shell script

• Knowledge of communications systems, digital signal processing, and digital communications

• Knowledge of software engineering and computer architecture

• Ability to be a self-starter and apply programming to efficiently implement test procedures and troubleshoot system operations

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in EE, CS, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience with MATLAB

• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
