Mental and Behavioral Health Technical Program Management Advisor

As part of our team, you’ll serve as a trusted technical operational advisor, helping to implement and monitor complex programs focused on driving innovation and transformative change in mental and behavioral health. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing guidance on best practices for project management, resource allocation, and operational excellence. You’ll leverage your expertise in mental and behavioral health to advise on strategic priorities, track program progress, mitigate risks, and foster a high-performance culture. 

You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals, coordinating teams to enhance communication and efficiency, and preparing updates for senior leaders. Your attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and ability to motivate and mentor others will enable organizational success. 

What You’ll Work On

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to various team members to ensure the successful implementation of organizational goals and initiatives related to mental and behavioral health.  

  • Act as a trusted advisor, managing key priorities and serving as a point of contact for stakeholders.  

  • Ensure alignment of all projects with the organization's mission, vision, and goals, particularly focusing on mental and behavioral health initiatives.  

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of complex programs with multiple component parts.  

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.  

  • Utilize advanced project management tools and methodologies to track progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.  

  • Foster a high-performance culture by motivating and mentoring team members.  

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.  

  • Provide regular updates to the senior leader on project statuses, team performance, and organizational progress.  

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.  

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline workflows and ensure consistency.  

  • Manage resource allocation and optimize the use of organizational assets.  

  • Prepare comprehensive reports, compelling presentations, and executive summaries for the senior leader.  

  • Serve as a liaison between key stakeholders, ensuring transparent and effective communication.  

  • Represent the organization in high-level meetings, conferences, and events as needed.

You Have:  

  • 10 years of experience with program management, oversight, and leadership for complex programs with multiple component parts focused on achieving transformative change and broad innovations in mental and behavioral health 

  • Experience with project management software and tools, including Trello, MS Project, or Asana   

  • Ability to ask insightful questions that challenge traditional thinking  

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements 

  • Master's degree in a Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Psychology, or Neuroscience field 

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with innovative digital mental or behavioral health technologies 

  • Experience in support of, or otherwise related to, an Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) organization such as DARPA or ARPA-H

  • Experience in a consulting environment 

  • Experience developing presentations and engaging visual materials 

  • Ability to develop and convey meaningful insights, significant contributions, and recommendations to address complex client issues 

  • Ability to learn, grow, and develop new skill sets 

  • Ability to display creativity and resourcefulness 

  • Possession of excellent leadership skills, written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills

  • Possession of excellent data gathering, analytical, problem-solving, and client service skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
